Job Description

Duties:
1. Provide home-based parenting guidance and support in the Healthy Families America and Parents as Teachers programs

2. Administer and monitor screenings for development and immunizations

3. Participate in the development, instruction and teaching of community educational classes

4. Present at public speaking engagements as assigned

5. Attend interagency meetings as assigned

6. Attend continuous training opportunities (workshops, conferences, classes & individual research)

7. Attend weekly staff meetings and HAF/PAT meetings

8. Resource clients to appropriate community agencies

9. Keep required documentation of visits and client community resourcing

10. Complete assigned quarterly and annual reports

11. Answer the crisis line when needed

12. Assist with annual activities for child abuse prevention

13. Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma required; BA/BS preferred

2. Educational background in the social sciences or a related field AND/OR experience working with young children (ages 0-3) and their parents

3. Availability for three years of employment

4. Spanish speaking required.

5. Own transportation

6. Ability to work at least one night a week

7. Cleared Background Criminal Investigation

8. Knowledge of child abuse symptoms and their effects on children

9. Ability to work as an effective team member

10. Ability to obtain First Aid, CPR, and Food Handler's certification
Benefits, compensation and Employment Requirements:

This is a salaried position and qualifies for benefits such as health, sick, vacation, and retirement. Compensation will begin at $11-13 per hour depending on experience. A contract related to training costs, reimbursement and employment length must be entered into upon hire.

Part Time Bookkeeper

Position: A part time bookkeeper is needed for Ogden area employer. Duties will include: Oversee accounts payable and receivable. Do all billing. Reconcile bank statements, payroll, assist with audits, writing letters and taking minutes. This position requires proficiency in Quick Books, Microsoft office and two years experience. This is a part time position, working approximately 15-20 hours per week during the afternoon, must cover lunch hour and work five days a week. Benefits, such as vacation, sick leave, paid holidays and a retirement plan, are offered. Position requires that applicants type a minimum of 35 words per minute, possess a minimum of an associates degree in finance or accounting. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience working with non-profit agencies.

Development Director

Part-time Development Director Position Available at Prevent Child Abuse Utah (PCAU)

Primary duties and responsibilities:
The Development Director is responsible for the planning and implementation of a comprehensive, diversified and effective fundraising strategy to support and grow PCAU's annual budget.
* Develop and implement a fundraising program to include: major gifts, annual campaign, corporate and foundation campaigns, and special events.
* Establish annual fund raising goals and budget targets and specific strategies to meet goal and targets.
* Enhance systems for identifying and cultivating effective relationships with prospective donors and recording and tracking all contributions received.
* Recruit, train & utilize volunteers and other staff as appropriate
* Independently, and with Executive and Associate Directors, write and develop proposals, materials, solicitation letters, invitations, and other fundraising related materials.

Essential to this position:
* Prior fund raising experience and a proven track record of meeting fund raising goals.
* High degree of creativity, enthusiasm, passion, and integrity.
* High level of initiative, energy, common sense, and emotional maturity.
* Excellent communication, presentation & negotiation skills. Superb and demonstrable written communication skills.
* Ability to travel periodically to engage with prospective donors and to participate in all annual PCAU activities.

Must be a hands-on individual who will adjust and adapt to a rapidly growing and changing entrepreneurial environment. Requires someone willing to take on a variety of projects and work on local community and national platforms to increase PCAU's income and visibility.

Minimum requirements: five years experience in fundraising; bachelor's degree preferred; command of Microsoft Word, Excel, the Internet. Salary will begin at 28-30K depending on qualifications and verifiable experience.

ABOUT Prevent Child Abuse Utah
Prevent Child Abuse Utah is a private non-profit dedicated to the prevention of child abuse through education, networking and public awareness campaigns. During 2006-2007, PCAU staff reached almost 73,000 students, teachers, professionals and community members with various forms of child abuse prevention education.

PCAU has been working with the Utah education system and providing school-based child abuse prevention programs for the past 26 years. It is the state's largest nonprofit child abuse prevention organization. PCAU's curriculum is approved by the Utah State Office of Education and meets the core curriculum values.

PCAU strongly believes that it takes all of us working together to create lasting results and a safer community. We realize that our agency is part of a larger puzzle and we are one of the many pieces that fit together to make a difference in the community.
