Position: Home Visiting Director

Reports To: Executive Director

Salary: $30.00/hourly

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary: Prevent Child Abuse Utah is looking for a dynamic leader to join our mission and leadership team. The Home Visiting Director will oversee two evidence-based home visiting programs: Nurse-Family Partnership and Parents as Teachers. The position will be based in Ogden and oversee programs in Weber, Morgan, Box Elder, and Davis counties. The best candidate will be curious, adaptable, responsive, professional, and knowledge-hungry.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Accounting/bookkeeping experience.
  • Excel expertise.
  • Knowledge of contract compliance.
  • Must pass a criminal history background check 
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

Preferred Qualifications

  • Nonprofit background and knowledge
  • Familiarity with home visiting
  • Healthcare administration background
  • Familiarity with government contracts

Purpose

The nurse home visitor is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing services to low income pregnant women and their families using the Nurse-Family Partnership Program home visiting model. This job will serve women in Weber County.
The nurse home visitor is responsible for maintaining the highest standards in clinical nursing practice and adherence to the Nurse-Family Partnership model, policies, procedures, Visit-to-Visit Guidelines, and standards of Nurse-Family Partnership and of the lead agency. The nurse home visitor reports to the Nurse-Family Partnership nurse supervisor.

Qualifications for NFP Nurse

    • Current COVID vaccination is required for all employees
    • BSN required
    • Current RN license in good standing required
    • Current CPR required
    • Two years recent experience in maternal/child health, public health, home
      visiting, or mental/behavioral nursing preferred
    • Two years recent experience in maternal/child health, public health, home
      visiting, or mental/behavioral nursing preferred
    • Two years recent experience in maternal/child health, public health, home
      visiting, or mental/behavioral nursing preferred
    • Basic computer skills
    • Valid driver’s license and insured automobile required

    Job Summary:

    The Nurse-Family Partnership nurse home visitor is responsible for providing in person comprehensive nursing services to pregnant women and their families eligible for the Nurse-Family Partnership Program.

    Job Type: Part-time

    Pay: Starting at $37 per hour depending on experience

    Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid vacation, week of Christmas to New Years paid time off. 

    Basic Job Functions:

    • Provides home visits to first-time pregnant women  
    •  Adheres to nursing process and the Nurse-Family Partnership model of home visitation 
    • Carries a caseload of 13-15 clients.
    • Provides education, support, and referral resources in assisting women and their families in attaining their targeted goals
    • Meet with Nurse-Family Partnership nurse supervisor weekly for clinical supervision
    • Maintain confidentiality
    • Document appropriately

    Required: 

    BSN required
    COVID-19 Vaccinations required

    Current RN license in good standing required
    Current CPR required
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    Basic computer skills
    Valid driver’s license and insured automobile required

    Preferred: 

    Home visiting experience preferred

    Position: Peer Parent 

    Reports To: Peer Parenting Supervisor

    Starting Salary: $15.50/hourly

    Status: 1099 contract

    Job Summary: Work directly with at-risk families as identified by DCFS providing individualized and interactive instruction utilizing the Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP) and/or the SafeCare evidence based curriculum. Instruction will take place in client’s home for the purpose of maintaining or reunifying the family unit by reducing risk of abuse or neglect through assessment of strengths and needs, goal setting, intensive education and guided application of skills.

    Qualifications: 

    • Have at least two years experience working directly with children.
    • Experience with child welfare preferred
    • Must pass a criminal history background check 
    • Must have reliable transportation
    • Must be at least 21 years of age

    • Ability to work under stress and handle crisis situations
    • Ability to present with energy and enthusiasm
    • Willingness to work with culturally and economically diverse clientele
    • Strong sense of organizational skills and able to work independently

    • Communicate objectively and effectively through written and verbal form

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    •       Individualize lessons to client while maintaining fidelity to the STEP curriculum
    •       Assist in translating needs into practical goals and identifying specific action steps
    •       Complete home visits 4 hours/week per family
    •       Participate in mandatory trainings.
    •       Communicate in timely manner with caseworkers, clients and supervisor
    •       Actively contribute as a member of the Child and Family Team
    •       Document contacts made with client, caseworker and collateral sources
