PCAU Director Retires 

 Anne Freimuth Led Expansion of Prevention and Education Programs

Anne Freimuth, Executive Director of Prevent Child Abuse Utah (PCAU), has announced her retirement effective December 31, 2011. Freimuth served as the organization’s leader for nearly a decade and oversaw the growth of many statewide child abuse prevention programs.

November 7-9, 2011 - JOINING FORCES 

Please join us for the JOINING FORCES Conference on Child Abuse and Family Violence at the Davis Conference Center in Layton, UT. This 3-day conference focuses on prevention, investigation, prosecution and treatment issues surrounding child abuse and family violence. Leading experts from around the state and country make this one of the best training conference of the year.  

 

RECENT EVENTS

April 4, 2011 - Child Abuse Prevention Month Declaration

 Each year, the governor signs a proclamation declaring April as Child Abuse Prevention Month. The declaration will be read at a press conference at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 4, at the Utah Capitol. PCAU will launch the month's activities, including a large pinwheel garden on the lawn of the capitol.

April 5, 2011 - Ogden City Child Abuse Prevention Month

PCAU will receive the proclamation from Ogden's Mayor and City Council on Tuesday, April 5 at 6 p.m.

June 13, 2011 - "FORE" Utah Kids Charity Golf Tournament

November 1-3, 2010 - JOINING FORCES Child Abuse and Family Violence Conference

Now - Christmas, 2010 - Holiday Giving Program

Each year, PCAU hosts two Christmas giving programs, Cops, Kids & Christmas and Christmas for Kids. PCAU is now gathering names of those who are interested in sponsoring children for Christmas presents. Sponsors are given the name, sizes and a wish list for each child, and sponsors generally spend about $100 per child. HOLIDAY GIVING PROGRAM

Cops, Kids and Christmas

PCAU worked with the Ogden Police Department to provide the Cops, Kids and Christmas program to more than 30 children.

Christmas for Kids

Funded by generous donations of community members, this program provided a happy holiday to more than 450 children this year.

Christmas Tree Festivals

PCAU was honored to take part in two local charity events; the Christmas Tree Jubilee, which sponsors the Weber School Foundation, and The Festival of Trees, which sponsors Primary Children's Medical Center.
